Islam’s research lab is equipped with analytical balances, hot plates, ultrasound sonicators, PH meter, Critical point dryer (tousimis), one glove Box ( working conditions target <1 ppm for oxygen and moisture), High-temperature vacuum dryer (400 oC, Across International), Hydrothermal Oven, Rotary Evaporator, Freeze Dryer, VSP-3e 8 Channel Battery Analyzers (Biologic Inc), high-temperature muffle furnace (Thermofischer).
Moreover, the Islam group can access the “Multi-user Core Facilities” at George Mason University which are equipped with Rigaku X-ray Powder Diffractometer (Rigaku MiniFlex), Single-Crystal X-Ray Diffractometer, Raman Spectrometer, UV-VIS Spectrometers, FTIR, ICP-MS, Scanning Electron Microscopy equipped with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (SEM-EDX), Transmission Electron Micorsocopy (TEM, JEOL), Differential Thermal Analysis for TGA-DSC.
Addtionally, our group has access to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s XPS and HRTEM facilities.
